the foundation
The Durga Das Foundation is a non-profit,
non-governmental organisation with interests in education, culture and community development.
Governed by a Board comprising Trustees representing the field of education, industry, culture and social welfare, they are the conscience keepers of the Foundation.
Set up in 1991, the Foundation was registered as a Trust in the year 1994. Named after the revolutionary freedom fighter and former Chairman of the Punjab Legislative Council, the late Mr Durga Das
Khanna, it has upheld his values of Service before Self, at all times.

As Director of the Durga Das Foundation, he spearheads the entire movement,
overseeing it and ensuring that the latest global developments in the field of
education are customised to the needs of the Indian child.
Under his leadership, there is an attempt at creating synergy in the administrative,
academic, social and cultural aspects of the organisation. Using the maxim of
"less is more" he tries to let simplicity be his guiding motto as he goes about
setting efficient systems in place.
With over 15 years of experience, he has been working in the areas of education,
art and culture and social development under the banner of the parent organisation, the Durga Das Foundation.

As Principal of the Strawberry Fields World School, she leads the school in its multifarious
initiatives aimed at making children confident, compassionate and challenge ‘grabbers’. Drawing on her varied experiences in education which include teaching primary and secondary classes and curriculum development in U.K. and India, she is personally involved in planning the curriculum, creating effective models of assessment, ensuring that learning is assimilated and retained, strengthening and updating teachers training needs and creating channels of communication between teachers and parents. She is equipped with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education (Hons.) and a Certificate in Mathematics with Education, from the University of Cambridge. She also has an M.Phil. in Educational Research where her thesis topic at Cambridge was “The perceived importance of school Mathematics.” The school sees in her, a person who along with being capable and global in her worldview, is rooted in Indian reality, in the issues that grip students today.

As Coordinator of the school, she exudes confidence in her role as she goes about interfacing with parents, visitors, faculty and administrative staff. She looks into Personnel and Human Resource needs, keeping staff morale high and productivity levels consistent.
Efficient and empathetic, she is quick to grasp issues and ensure that there is immediate redressal.
