The Durga Das Foundation formally launched the Strawberry Fields World School in Chandigarh on October 11, 2003 to an audience which comprised academicians, educationists, teachers, parents and distinguished government functionaries.Mrs Vineeta Rai, the then Union Revenue Secretary presided over the function.

Strawberry Fields, a high school project which commenced from the academic year 2004-05, unveiled its novel approach towards education, learning and student skill development. Extensive presentations detailing the concept, methodology and vision for the High School were made.

Vineeta Rai said, " I am truly impressed by the scale and quality of what is going to be made available to the students of SFWS. Education forms the basis of what an individual grows up into and how he conducts his life thereafter. It is indeed heartening to see schools like SFWS catering to the overall needs of the modern child and ensuring in the process the evolving of a responsible citizen who can be an asset not just to his school and society but to the country as well."
